FINAL PROJECT - FLIP PRESENTATION

So we got briefed in class that we need to use a processed design framework and produce a infographic report to present the given information to our "Target Audience" with the purpose of -

    1. Creating Awareness
    2. Explaining a Process
    3. Defining a Concept

With any type of based media and software using photography or any vector imagery. We need to consider our design with these Design Considerations:

    1. Organization Principles - Latch and Content Organization
    2. Aesthetic Principles - Animation Principles
    3. Cognitive Principles - Principles of Visualization

And we are expected to deliberate our presentation considering each of these assessment rubric for our final outcome -
  •     Show causality
  •     Multivariate graphics and visuals
  •     Integrate word number and images
  •     Content count
  •     Within eyesight
  •     Use multiple charts
  •     Do not de-quantify
The requirements for the final outcome will be Video 1920 x 1080 (min 1.5 mins max 3 mins)

So in week 1 we were asked to form our own group ASAP so that we could start working on our project and we were told to find groupmates that are int the same class as we are so that during the flip presentation there wont be any crashes as there are multiple class slots and multiple lecturer for this module.

So I got invited to join a group during the session and as I'm late to class there weren't actually any more choices for me to choose so I accepted the offer and joined the group. Our group consist of 6 member including me.
-Alexis
-Wee Lun
-Carol
-Razique
-Nathan
-Michael

So Weelun started the chat asked us to provide our ideas on what topic and video should we be working on the project, we were told to find 1 video and some disadvantages of it so that we have a "problem" to fix on and show it on 7th February 2025.

So the video I got is about how Moebius Transformation works in mathematics, the video shows how moving to a higher dimension can make the transformations easier to understand. Which I think is hard to understand and not a lot of people have the knowledge of this piece of information

Fig 1.0, Topic Choice 1 Moebius Transformations Revealed

But after a short discussion of my video we don't think it's suitable so we moved on to 9th February 2025 and a few of us showed our ideas on what ideas we want to work on.

Fig 1.2 , Topic Choice 3 Science, Technology and Society

Fig 1.3 , Topic Choice 4 Time to Get Real About Climate Change

Fig 1.4, Choice votes

So after collecting four choices that we've sent we voted on which video to work on and initially we decided to work on the hydro electric power plant.

After decided on the topic we started preparing slides as we are confused on whether we will be presenting on 10th February so me and Nathan rushed out a short presentation consisting of -

  • Intro (Mic)
  • Reason for Choosing Topic (Mic)
  • Objective of Video (Nathan)
  • Target Audience (Nathan)
  • Reference (Mic & Nathan)

After the class on 10th February we made sure what group we are all in and confirmed on the time like when will we be presenting and all.

We also decided to change to another topic after that as we still have more time to prepare and propose our ideas, and we've got a few more proposed ideas this time.

Fig 1.7, Vaping is good or bad

Fig 1.9, Voting session

So after the voting we've all agreed to work on the topic exercise on 10th February and there's no progress until 18th February, we start with dividing our parts

Fig 2.0, Work Distribution

So these are the parts we have and the final decision for these are-

Phase 1
Storyboard sketch
-Mic
-Nate

Phase 2
Asset
-Carol
-Razique

Phase 3
Animation
-Wee Lun

Phase 4
Audio and refinement
-Alexis

So on 26th February our team member started to check on our storyboard and decided to have a meeting on what we should do for our storyboard as for our first attempt is messy as theres not consistency or anything at all.

After that on 5th of march me and Nathan finalized our storyboard and made changes to it so that there is consistency over all the frames also added in some new frames so that there are connections between the frames.

Fig 2.2, Storyboard Finalized

So after the storyboards are done I created a new slides on Canva for our presentation

Fig 2.3, Week 6 Presentation Slides

While doing the slides I've also done some research on what we are actually working on so that I can find related and correct visuals and examples for our research pages.

Fig 2.4, Visuals that represents our research

After finishing the slides I sent it into the group and Nathan volunteered to present later half of the slides cause it will be the explanation for the story boards and all. Razique took up the first half as no one else wanted to present the first half.

After all these its the asset part, animation and the audio part so me and Nathan are focusing on our other module.

And on 21st March Wee Lun finished with the animation and passed on the last part to Alexis for the sound and VFX part

and here is how the video looked like at first-

So this is our final video for our Infographic Design module. Here's the link to Access all the files that we've used and did in this module-

REFLECTION

So throughout this module I've learned a few things I notice that we procrastinate a lot and we do stuff like last minute so I think we should improve on that and also I dont think I'm really satisfied to the final product cause the final product looks almost the same to our storyboard like there's no further improvement throughout the process not really sure what happened. And also maybe the group should interact and discuss more cause I felt like there's a lack of interaction.
