12.9.2023 - 10.10.2023 / Week 3 - Week 7 Michael Chan Henn Loong /
0363611 Video & Sound Production / BA of Design (HONS) in Creative
Media / Taylor's University Project 2 / Shooting Practice &
Editing
So in project 2 we were instructed to create 2 shooting & editing
exercises one is group based the other one would be and individual Tiktok /
Instagram video that represents ourselves. So for the group based assignment
we were separated into groups by Mr. Martin and we have various roles to be
filled in this production team so in order to have everything going smoothly
we chose our roles and made sure that everyone knows what their
responsibilities are.
Here is the crew list:

Sir even provided us with a file letting us know that the importance of each
role and what the roles are in charged of so each of us knows that what we are
in charge with.
So as we are doing in group so I didn't actually remember to take the progress
works and all but we did our filming in campus we climbed up here and there to
record our video and half way it was raining and because of the good quality
of our sound recorder we can also hear the rain in the recordings quite loudly
so we needed to stop and wait till the rain stops other than this I think the
only problem we have is during the start of the session when every one is
still not familiar with the equipment but after a few tries we adapted to it
and I think after that the whole session went through smoothly.
And after the shooting we edited the video and Mr. Martin also asked us to do
some color correction for the video so here's the result.
This is the image of my Premiere pro but its taken after I've finished up everything and deleted some of my files so like the background music its not shown in this image.

So after that is the Individual video shooting assignment, the self titled
Tiktok / Instagram video. So before starting I started to thought of what kind
of style would I like to film and surprisingly I got the answer pretty fast.
As I watch blogs and stuff pretty much so I thought of maybe I can try
something similar like that I thought of recording something like a " A day of
mine" topic video. So with the idea and also some videos that I watched when
looking for video references I've decided to film a random and special blog of
mine which consist of what I'll do normally when I'm free and what I'm
interested in. So below are the few videos that I've watched during the
research session.

So here are the slides for the ideas, mood boards and video references.
I personally don't really plan anything so I wanted the video to actually reflect my characteristics and vibes so most of the stuff inside the video are random I just do what I felt like doing and insert it into Premiere Pro and edited the video and as I was kind of into skating lately so I decided to involve it in my video.
So I added in a dip to black effect at the start of the video to make it like its diving into the clip and I also removed all the original sounds of the recorded video and I added in a music as the background music, it's a more funny and fast paced song so I think it suits the video itself pretty well as my videos are random and all.
I've also sped up the recorded videos as well so that it meets the requirements and also it suits the vibe more, if playing at a normal speed the video would be too boring and slow couldn't really bring out a fun and exploring vibes.
I've also added in a few transitions in the video itself, so that when the video is cutting from one to another scene it would look smoother.
At the last of the video I added a dip to black too so that it can cut of cleanly, and as for the music I did something like a studio reverb so that it sounds like the music is fading off slowly and ending the video.
26.04.2024 - 24.05.2024 / Week 1 - Week 5 Michael Chan Henn Loong / 0363611 Design Principles / BA of Design (HONS) in Creative Media / Taylor's University Task 1 / Proposal INSTRUCTIONS <iframe src="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BOnp_WglFuZYCw2qMmIidfKrOsPIyO3s/preview" width="640" height="480" allow="autoplay"></iframe> In this task, students are required to begin synthesizing their own gameplay system which will be based on their investigations of digital and analogue games. They are to apply a concept based on their research about games and other existing studies. Students are also to suggest narratives and visual genres that would contribute to the unique selling proposition. Students are to: Propose a board game/tabletop game system/framework with a visual theme that may be related to a narrative or genre. Identify research problems and questions ...
25.09.2024 - 23.10.2024 Michael Chan Henn Loong / 0363611 Game Development / BA of Design (HONS) in Creative Media / Taylor's University Task 1 & Exercises LECTURES Week 3 In week 3 we started our first lesson on Unity, Dr. Razif gave us some time on playing around with the components, mass and stuff in the unity and taught us how it is easier to make all these now comparing to the old days as Unity provides us the physics needed for the gameplay to work as in their generation the physics are codded by their own very hands. Fig 1.0, First try Unity, 18.10.2024 I'm getting hands-on with Unity for the first time, experimenting with the interface and basic features that Mr. Razif taught us in the class. Adding in rigid body provides the subject physics like gravity pull. Fig 1.1, Collider Component, 18.10.2024 Adding a collider to the object to detect co...
