REFLECTIONS

Reflection is found at the end of the full set of slides.

EXPERIENCE:

This module is pretty different from the other modules that I’m working on this semester. This module is more to in depth research instead of the designing and stuff that I normally have for my other classes. It’s my first time doing research like this for that I noticed that how deep and detailed can a research really goes and with different methods comes different results.

This whole assignment took us 14 weeks to finish up everything as we need to decide what topics are we going to do then we need to look up for articles and read it up to create our own proposal. Truth to be told reading up the articles was nothing fun to do.

OBSERVATION:

I noticed that some specific topic or theme will take longer time to find the suitable article for their proposal as not a lot of related articles are written and so I needed to look for something similar and try to extract points and ideas from the article. I’ve also noticed that focus group sessions would be easier to carry out compared to interview sessions, and with focus group sessions participants can act more freely and casually without being restrained by the rules and regulations of interviewing sessions.

FINDINGS:

I’ve found out that Focus groups and interviews are two different methods that can be carried out in researches. Focus groups are more friendlier I would say and it can be more casual as for interview mails are required to be sent out to ask for permission of a single professional participant and without a good mail, misunderstandings might happen.

Other than that I’ve also learned on how to use the citations in this module, at first it was quite confusing for a new learner like me but throughout the process Im starting to get the gist of it and with a good article we can also branch out from their reference list to get more related articles for ideas and knowledge.
