1a.What is Poster Design?
- Poster design is the process of creating a visual communications piece that is designed to grab the attention of viewers and convey a particular message or promote a particular product or event. Poster design involves using different design elements such as typography, color, graphics and images to create a visually appealing and attention-grabbing composition. The goal of poster design is to create an impactful message that stays with the viewer long after they have seen the poster. Posters may be used for advertising events, products, or services or as a way to inform and educate a target audience
1b.What is Good Poster Design?
- From the research that I've done I think a good Poster Design should
be Eye-catching and attention- grabbing so that it is able to capture the audience
interest in a few seconds. Other than that I think Simplicity is also pretty important as a
effective poster designs communicate the message quickly and clearly,
avoiding visual clutter complexity. Correspondingly I think Readability should be considered too, the typography should be legible, and the font size should be
appropriate for the distance at which the poster will be viewed.
Additionally I think the design should have a clear Visual Hierarchy so that the most important
information is given prominence, so instead of putting in all the visuals
that we think fit, the poster should balanced in
terms of visual weight and not feel cluttered or empty only then the
audience get to enjoy the design. Last but not least, I think Purposeful Imagery is also quite crucial in creating a
good poster design, if imagery is used strategically, the image will be able
to complement the message and evoke emotions in the audience.
1c.What is a photographic poster? What is an illustrated poster?
- From my point of perspective i think Photography posters uses actual
photographs as their primary design element, while illustrated posters use
hand-drawn or digitally created artwork and Photography posters are often
more realistic and showcase real-life people, places, and things, while
illustrated posters can be more stylized and abstract, relying on the
artist's imagination. Other than that Photography posters are usually
created using a camera while illustrated posters can be created using a
variety of different mediums, including pen and paper, painting, or digital
illustration software. Another thing that I thought interesting is that
Photography posters usually captures real-life moments in time, whereas
illustrated posters are usually used to tell a story, convey a message or
promote a product or service in a more abstract way. Generally, I think
photography posters look more contemporary, modern and realistic while
illustrated posters look more creative, artistic and imaginative.

2a.What is Double Exposure?
- From the researches that I've done double exposure is a visual effect
achieved by superimposing two or more images on top of each other to
create a single image that blends the elements of each. It is a technique
commonly used in photography, but also in art and graphic design. The
resulting image can be surreal, abstract, or dreamlike, and often conveys
a deeper meaning or message. Double exposure in art and design is used to
create eye-catching visuals, convey complex emotions, and tell meaningful
stories. It is a popular technique among artists, illustrators, and
designers, and can be executed in a variety of styles and mediums, such as
digital art, painting, and collage.
2b.What is Digital Double Exposure?
- Digital double exposure is a graphic design technique that combines two
or more images through layering in a way that creates a single image. It
is a digital version of the traditional film technique of double exposure.
Digital double exposure is created using photo editing software like PS so
that it allows the designer to control the transparency and blending of
two or more images, so they appear as one. This technique is commonly used
in artistic photography, film, and various fields of graphic design to
create unique visual effects to convey a message or emotion to the
audience.

Week 5 / Double Exposure
It's a public holiday today so there's no classes today but we were tasked
with learning double exposure on our own with the provided slides. It wasn't
really that hard as we only need to follow the steps in the slides.

Project 2A / Double Exposure
Process:
I did some research on Pinterest before I start my Project 2A: Double
Exposure.
Fig 1.1 Pinterest Explore Board
After research I start looking for the pictures that I can use for the
double exposure project and I decided to use a photo that I've recently
taken when I went out to have fun with my friends.
Fig 1.2 Self Portrait
After choosing my portrait I started editing the picture.
Fig 1.3 Portrait
So my idea was incorporating ice mountains and clouds into my portrait to
reflect my characteristics, as people says that I'm giving as dirty look to
everyone all the time and I look fierce so that it seems like I'm a cold
guy, but actually it's just me thinking stuff in my head all the time or
maybe you can call it as daydreaming. So I decided to put in an Ice mountain
in my body to show the coldness and putting clouds in and outside of my
heads.
Outcome as following :
Fig 1.4 Double Exposure Portrait
I watched a few videos that Mr. Martin recommended us and I followed the
instructions inside while I'm creating the double exposure portrait it
helped a lot and I got some of my ideas from them too. So this is my Final
product for my double exposure portrait.

Project 2B
For this task we are to design a poster based on the SDG topics we choose.

FEEDBACK
Week 5:
Watch the tutorial video for further understanding.
Week 6:
No feedback
Week 7:
The Idea is fine, but some inspiration from similar design is necessary.
Week 8:
change the words arrangement, as the other one looks more like the tittle.
REFLECTIONS
Experience:
This project is actually fun as we have another similar one for the
Illustration side so I actually experienced this project two times as both
of it is also about SDG. Even though its two same topic but I felt like I
experienced two different thing. I personally like doing it with PS more
as It has more room for me to play with as I'm not very good at drawing
too, and I think it's more fun to play with different combinations of
effects with in this project, so I had fun throughout this whole
project.
Observations:
Throughout my research of Life On Land I found out that there are so many
different types of animals are being poached all around the world and so
many other factors that caused animals to go extinct and also how we humans
are destroying mother nature. After doing all that research I chose rhino to
be my subject as its the one I'm most familiar with and also which are going
extinct.
